Here you can see the reason we need to replace this zipper. Missing teeth.
Use a seam ripper to carefully cut the threads holding the zipper.
This step gets much easier as the seam begins to open.
If there is a snap holding in the zipper you may needto remove it.
First seam is open and the old zipper has been removed.
If your zipper is not located on the edge (as shown here) you may have to open this seam first (see arrow).
Using the seam ripper as before, remove the zipper.
We use double face tape to hold the zipper during sewing.
Second side taped in and ready for sewing.
You will need to pull the liner out from underneath so you don't sew through it during this step.
All that's left now is to sew this seam shut.
